Gregory Sobel is a Vice President – Senior Analyst on the Eastern Local Government Ratings Team. He is the lead analyst for Pennsylvania local governments and helped establish an analytical framework for evaluating environmental, social, and governance risks for school districts across the U.S. He sits on the Charter School Ratings Taskforce and Cybersecurity Taskforce, and is a representative for the US Public Finance Group on Moody’s decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital assets working group.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Gregory managed a portfolio of hedged energy disbursements for a boutique energy procurement and management firm working with third party real estate management companies and worked as a Constituent Relations Representative for the New York State Senate. He holds a Master of Arts in Economics from University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, where he also completed his undergraduate studies.
