The Rt Hon Lucy Rigby KC MP was appointed Economic Secretary to the Treasury on 21 July 2026. As City Minister, the Economic Secretary is responsible for financial services policy, reform and regulation, engagement with the financial services sector, personal savings policy, financial sanctions, and countering economic crime. Before her election as the Member of Parliament for Northampton North in 2024, Lucy worked as a solicitor at Hausfeld & Co LLP, where she specialised in competition law.
