Abdelhamid (known as Abdel) Bizid is the Head of Product for China and Head of APAC Product Development, Active and Alternatives, Global Product Solutions.

Mr. Bizid is responsible for building out the BlackRock China onshore product teams and engineering the domestic platform, while driving product strategy, innovation and design within our local Wealth and Fund management subsidiaries. In his role as Head of Product Development for APAC, Abdel is responsible for the product development and governance of the product platform for the region. He is also looking at delivering a differentiated BlackRock active and private markets offering for APAC clients, focusing on product innovation and delivering solutions, working closely with investment and client business teams.

Prior to taking that role, Mr. Bizid was responsible for the product strategy and execution to grow iShares’ local product ranges, deliver our global ETF products lines to the APAC region, develop our local Index mutual funds offerings, and drive iShares’ regulatory engagement efforts across APAC.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2015, Mr. Bizid led Equity Structuring at Deutsche Bank, based in Hong Kong, developing and promoting equity and hybrid derivatives products and strategies for DB’s Asian institutional clients, as well as helping build the automated retail flow derivatives pricing platform for DB’s private banking and retail distributors. Prior to DB, Mr. Bizid worked in a similar position at Barclays Capital, also in Hong Kong, since 2007. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Bizid worked in London for six years as a senior structurer in Equity and Fund Derivatives at Rabobank then Merrill Lynch, where he developed various fund derivatives structures for EMEA clients. Mr. Bizid started the first five years of his career in the Fixed Income derivatives quantitative department of the Caisse Des Depots et Consignations (currently known as Natixis).

Mr. Bizid has an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris, a Masters in Probability and Finance from University Paris VI. He also holds a Masters and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from University Paris I Sorbonne.
